BAMBOO PRODUCTION PROCESS
Step 1:
All bamboo materials are classified and tied
in the bundles after cutting nodes and
leftover away. Bamboo is soaked in the water
from 6-12 months.
Step 2:
After having soaked, bamboo is dried in the
sunlight or in the drying stove.
Step 3:
Bamboo is cut into thin strips.
Step 4: The strips are then coiled skilfully and
formed into the designed shape. Each piece
is cut, shaped and smoothed by hand, as many
as five times, and then polished repeatedly.
Step 5:
It takes many coats of paint, and many more
polishings, to bring rough bamboo to this
smooth, glowing finish. These repeated,
patient processes establish the level of
quality of products. For inlaid eggshell,
the eggshell is grilled or burnt with
traditional method before using. During
polishing, powdered talc is used to cover
the surface and to stick strips together.
Step 6:
Finished products are checked and chosen
carefully before packing for delivery. |
